In a ski town with a quiet off season, Halloween becomes a big deal. And this year, with October 31 falling on a Sunday, there was plenty of time to celebrate. To start off the week, children at Aspen Country Day School enjoyed Spirit Week, a series of theme days dreamed up by the student leaders of the school, the Eighth Graders.

Friday was all about Halloween and one of the first opportunities to get the entire school together, outside, for some buddy grade fun. The buddy grade program matches each grade with an older or younger class, deepening connections across the school. After the parade (video below), we gathered on Reagan Field, where Eighth Graders led a quick assembly and introduced the afternoon activity — decorating pumpkins with buddies. It was a beautiful, sunny day full of friendship. Check out the parade costumes!
