Which ACDS core value is most meaningful to you, and why?

Character. We get to lay the groundwork in preschool by teaching the social-emotional skills and lessons that later become a child’s sense of character, morality and integrity. As they grow and gain more experiences, they use those skills to develop their senses of respect, responsability, community, and perseverance.

What led you to a career in education?

I’ve been interested in child development since high school and originally went to school to be a music educator. However, working at Disney World as a Fairy Godmother at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique taught me just how much I loved working with young kids. My job at Ajax Cubs lit my passion for early childhood development.

A personal accomplishment you’re proud of?

Prior to moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, my husband and I spent almost a year traveling the western half of the U.S. During that time we visited 19 national parks

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

I’ve had parents refer to me as the Disney princess of preschool.
