Heidi moved to Aspen in 2002 to work as a private teacher for a family. She’s originally from Jupiter, Florida, and has both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education from the University of Florida. She has worked as a resource teacher and reading specialist at Billingsville Montessori in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a learning specialist at The Hill Center in Durham, North Carolina. She has worked in student support at Aspen Country Day since 2013.

What makes a student’s experience at ACDS distinctive from other schools?

The beautiful campus setting, smaller class size, outdoor ed program, and ski days!

Favorite ACDS tradition and why?

The Holiday Sing and the annual school play — can’t pick just one!

What led you to a career in education?

I was inspired by a class at University of Florida called ‘Exceptional Children’.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility
