Barbara moved from Maryland to Aspen in August 2023. She has taught Fifth Grade at public and private schools for over 25 years and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland.

Respect is the most meaningful because I believe it is the heart of compassion and the most fundamental value to being human.
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
The best compliment I ever received was being told I am good at managing chaos in a calm way.
Hidden talent or special skill?
I play the guitar, and I’m a decent seamstress.
A personal accomplishment you’re proud of?
I ran a marathon when I was 28.
