Today

First day of school

The 51st school year at Aspen Country Day begins the Tuesday after Labor Day. We are so excited to welcome everyone back for the best year yet.

Middle School fall Outdoor Ed

In a tradition that builds community in the first few days of school, mixed-grade groups of Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Graders head out for overnight backpacking and camping trips throughout the White River National Forest.

Yom Kippur, no school

Please note, this is a Thursday, with school in session the following day on Friday.

Kindergarten fall Outdoor Ed day

In a gentle but exciting introduction to the Outdoor Education program at Aspen Country Day School, Kindergarteners spend a day in the high country hiking, exploring nature, pitching tents, getting their own Outdoor Ed journals to use throughout the years at ACDS, and (of course) toasting s'mores.

Second Grade fall Outdoor Ed

A hike to a peak along the Continental Divide, a picnic by a high mountain lake, and time to enjoy the company of classmates, tell stories around the campfire, and explore the natural world. Second Graders have an overnight expedition each fall as the leaves begin to change.

First Grade fall Outdoor Ed

Camping in Colorado in the fall: an exciting expedition for the First Graders, who have an overnight in the high country. They practice bouldering, hiking, and camping skills, then write in their journals about their adventures. Noga's class goes on Outdoor Ed Wednesday-Thursday, September 29-30. Cathy's class goes Thursday-Friday, September 30-October 1.

Third Grade fall Outdoor Ed

Third Graders learn to rock climb, guided by professional instructors. Their introduction to this classic mountain sport emphasizes safety. This is a two-day trip with camping; one group of Third Graders goes Monday-Tuesday, the second group goes Thursday-Friday.

Fifth Grade Outdoor Ed

Taking their mountain biking skills to the next level, Fifth Graders camp and explore the extensive network of trails near Fruita, Colorado.
