A native of Clarks Green, Penn., Sara moved to Aspen in 2003 to work as an adaptive ski instructor for Challenge Aspen. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton, and an Associate Level Dyslexia Practitioner from the Orton Gillingham Academy. Sara has Kindergarten – Second Grades over her career, including two years as a MTSS coordinator and seven years as the vice pPrincipal of Aspen Elementary School. She is also a National Learning Facilitators of LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling).
Which ACDS core value is most meaningful to you, and why?
Perseverance, because learning how to persevere through tough things makes you stronger and builds tolerance to do hard things.
What makes a student’s experience at ACDS distinctive from other schools?
The sense of community that is ever present in classrooms and on campus is really special.

Completing my Orton Gillingham Associate Level Practicum
