Amanda was born and raised in Costa Rica and moved to Aspen in 2026 to join Aspen Country Day School as the Lower School Drama teacher. She holds a BA in Film Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently completing her K–12 Drama teaching licensure. Her theater training includes Denver School of the Arts, Pace University’s Summer Theatre Intensive, NYU Tisch’s Experimental Theatre Wing, and The New School College of Performing Arts. An actor, singer, playwright, director, and visual artist, she brings extensive experience both onstage and behind the scenes. She has performed in more than 30 professional and creative productions, including Manhattan Concert Productions’ Broadway production of The Secret Garden at Lincoln Center, and her play The Shape of Love won the 2022 CU Boulder New Play Festival.
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Catherine Zeta-Jones saw me perform in The Who’s Tommy and I had a major wardrobe malfunction on stage. I stayed in character and fixed it live. She told me I am a smart actor and she was impressed.
