Alex Tiernan
PE Teacher, Global Program Coordinator
A born and raised Carbondalian, Alex Tiernan has worked at Aspen Country Day School for over a decade in Physical Education and as Global Program Coordinator. He studied marketing and organizational management at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Alex is a certified Wilderness First Responder and also coaches the Aspen High School Cross Country Team.
Favorite way(s) to spend your time outdoors?
I ran the Leadville Trail 100, hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, and rafted the Grand Canyon. I’m passionate about the Colorado Avalanche and I also play hockey. I wish I were a pro surfer although I’ve never really surfed.
Favorite place in the Roaring Fork Valley?
Peppino’s Pizza in Carbondale; I’m president of their Sprinkle Club.

Southeast Asia: Thailand and Indonesia

I love Christmas lights. And I have an extensive bolo tie collection.
