Trisha Lavery
Kindergarten Assistant

Trisha grew up in Lake Placid, New York, and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2023 to work in education at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and an M.A. in Science Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She’s held a variety of roles in education, both in the classroom and outdoors. Her experience ranges from working as a farmyard educator in Vermont to serving as a field instructor in Grand Teton National Park. Trisha brings a deep appreciation for experiential learning and the outdoors to her work at ACDS.

Which ACDS core value is most meaningful to you, and why? 

I would say community. It’s so important to build and maintain a school community that fosters inclusion and inspires students to play a meaningful role in their larger community.

What energizes you?

Fly fishing! Being on the river is such a great way to unwind.

A personal accomplishment you’re proud of?

Cultivating a big garden filled with my favorite vegetables!
